PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for driving electrolytic capacitor for a long life even under high temperature and ripple convolution. SOLUTION: A carboxilic acid or its salt and/or boric acid or its salt, and 3,5-diacetoxy benzoate are dissolved by 0.1-10.0wt.% in a solvent whose main component is a polyhydric alcohol. The examples of the carboxilic acid are azelaic acid, sebacic acid, 1,6-decane carboxilic acid, 5,6-decane carboxilic acid, 7-vinyl hexadecene-1,16-dicarboxilic acid. The examples of the salt of a carboxilic acid or that of bolic acid are an ammonium salt, methylamine, a first class amine salt such as ethylamine, dimethylamine, a secondary amine salt such as ethylmethylamine, trimethylamine, a tertiary amine salt such as diethylmethylamine, tetramethyl ammonium, and a quarternary ammonium salt such as triethylmethyl ammonium.
