PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron core, the inductance of which can be adjusted easily without changing the shape of the core. SOLUTION: This iron core utilizes such a phenomenon that the magnetic permeability of a magnetic steel sheet changes when a compressive force is applied to the sheet in the direction of magnetization. Namely, this iron core is constituted to contain an added mechanism which can apply the compressive force to the iron core in the flowing direction of magnetic fluxes, and the inductance of the core is adjusted by adjusting the compressive force. In addition, since the iron core is manufactured by using a grain-oriented magnetic steel sheet having no forsterite on its surface, the relation between the compressive force and inductance becomes liner and the inductance can be adjusted easily.
