PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet-curable resin capable of forming a highly weather-resistant cured film excellent in adhesion to a member to be coated, and a coating agent obtained using the same, and to provide an ultraviolet-curable resin capable of forming a highly weather-resistant cured film excellent in adhesion to a member to be coated and solvent resistance, and a coating agent obtained using the same. SOLUTION: The ultraviolet-curable resin (graft copolymer) is obtained by causing an epoxy group in glycidyl methacrylate (d) to react with a carboxy group originating from methacrylic acid in a copolymer (A) obtained by copolymerizing isobornyl methacrylate (a), methacrylic acid (b) and 2-hydroxy-4-(2-methacryloyloxy)ethoxybenzophenone (c) thereby grafting glycidyl methacrylate (d) to the copolymer (A). The coating agent is obtained by dissolving the thus-obtained ultraviolet-curable resin (graft copolymer) together with a photopolymerization initiator in a solvent (for example, methyl ethyl ketone) as a resin solution.
