PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording head which can stably drive at a high speed by suppressing a change of the ink fly speed from each ink channel resulting from crosstalk, and can form clear images. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording head has a plurality of ink channels separated by side walls at least a part of which is constituted of a piezoelectric material. Among the plurality of ink channels of the inkjet recording head which discharges ink in the ink channel by changing the pressure in the ink channel through shear deformation of the side wall by a voltage impressed to an electrode formed at a side face of the side wall, the ink channels separated via one or more ink channels therebetween are united as one set. All ink channels are divided to two or more sets. An ink discharge operation is sequentially carried out in a time sharing manner for each set. Moreover, the inkjet recording head satisfies the condition that a compliance ratio between the side wall and the ink in the ink channel is not larger than 1.0. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
