PURPOSE: Provided are an anode for a battery, which enhances cycle characteristics by preventing an anode active material from being separated or removed from an anode collector due to expansion and contraction of the anode active material. CONSTITUTION: The anode(10) comprises an anode collector(11) having a protrusion(11B), and an anode active material layer(12) formed of at least one selected from the group consisting of a simple substance of silicon and compounds of silicon and alloyed with the anode collector(11) in at least a portion of the interface between the layer(12) and the anode collector(11). The anode active material layer(12) may be formed on the anode collector(11) by using a vapor phase method, liquid phase method and sintering method. The protrusion has an average diameter of 1-20 micrometers.
