PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplanter for rotating a planting driving shaft at an unequal speed, with which the planting driving shaft is previously rotated in the speed reduction range of an unequal speed change mechanism and inconvenience of falling off of raked seedlings from a planting tine is solved. SOLUTION: The sulky rice transplanter is equipped with a planting mechanism 18 for raking out seedlings from a seedling table 15 with the rotation of the planting driving shaft 22 and planting the seedlings in soil and an unequal speed change mechanism 36 periodically causing velocity fluctuation in the rotation of the planting driving shaft 22. The seedling raking action speed and the action speed in soil of the planting mechanism 18 are increased by the unequal speed change mechanism 36. A brake mechanism 40 for periodically applying brake force to a transmission mechanism is arranged in the transmission mechanism reaching from the unequal speed change mechanism 36 to the planting driving shaft 22. The brake action range of the brake mechanism 40 is set between the neighborhood of the seedling raking position of the planting mechanism 18 and the neighborhood of the latest position.
