PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the tilted objective lens of an optical pickup device, which can adjust the tilt with high precision. SOLUTION: An adjusting stage 29b is moved on the XY plane so that the quantity of received light of a central pixel (a pixel located at the origin (0))in an imaging face becomes maximum in all the pixels. Then, the quantity of the received light in a fourth area L4 is smaller compared with that in a second area L2, and therefore the ratio K2 of the former to the latter is smaller than 1. From this fact, it is recognized that the problem is solved by turning the objective lens 15 around the Y-axis so that the X-axis positive-direction side of the XY plane of the adjusting stage 29b is lifted, and the comatic abbration due to the tilted objective lens 15 is removed by turning the lens for an angle corresponding to the value K2 in the above direction.
