<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based recording liquid having practically sufficient drying property usable in a high-speed inkjet printer without using a particular drying apparatus and free from the defects of the image such as strike-through and bleeding and provide a recording method to use the recording liquid. <P>SOLUTION: The water-based recording liquid at least contains water, a coloring agent soluble or dispersible in water, 2,4-diethyl-1,5-pentanediol, a ≤4C diol derivative and a water-soluble organic solvent as the ink composition.
