The optical coupling part 110 wavelength-multiplexes signal light with a wavelength &lambda;<SB>1</SB>inputted to a first port 111 and exciting light with a wavelength &lambda;<SB>2</SB>(=&lambda;<SB>1</SB>/3) inputted to a second port 112 and outputs the wavelength-multiplexed signal and the exciting light from a third port 113. The optical fiber 120 makes the signal light and the exciting light outputted from the third port 113 of the optical coupling part 110 be inputted from its end face, waveguides the inputted light, has a waveguide mode with a mode phase refractive index n<SB>1</SB>at the wavelength &lambda;<SB>1</SB>and has a waveguide mode with a mode phase refractive index n<SB>2</SB>at the wavelength &lambda;<SB>2</SB>wherein an equation n<SB>1</SB>= n<SB>2</SB>is practically satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
