PURPOSE: A propeller shaft is provided to improve the power transmission efficiency by reducing the load of sealed air. CONSTITUTION: A seal installation groove(51a) is formed lengthwise in the partial section of a pipe member(51) without forming a spline(S) combination with a piston member(53) when the piston member to be inserted in the pipe member is compressed and released. A seal(57) is installed in the seal installation groove to stick to the inside of the pipe member and the outside of the piston member for reducing the air load of a sealed section by moving lengthwise in the pipe member at the compression and the releasing of the piston member. Thereby, the piston member is moved smoothly and the whole load for a propeller shaft is reduced.
