PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing apparatus capable of processing a work at a high speed, and of detecting whether or not the work is positioned at a correct processing position before a mold starts clamp operation. SOLUTION: The processing apparatus for processing the work using a metal mold comprises feed pins for conveying the work inserted into holes provided therein, and a reflecting optical sensor for detecting whether or not the work has been conveyed to a predetermined processing position by optically detecting the position of the feed pins, before the metal mold starts the clamp operation at least at one position of a first position for detecting whether or not the work before the processing is positioned at the correct position and a second position for detecting whether or not the work after the processing is positioned at the correct position.
