PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly record data from a peripheral device in a directory structure and a file form used by the predetermined data processing software started in a personal computer. SOLUTION: The optical information recording/reproducing device 1 for recording/reproducing data on an optical disk (magneto-optical (MO disk)) 28 which is a removable optical recording medium is provided with a direct copy control section 23 for transferring data with a peripheral device 21 connected to a first connector 5, a USB bus switching circuit 27 for outputting one of data from a personal computer 24 connected to a second connector 10 and data from the direct copy control section 23, and an optical disk drive control section (MO drive control section) 29 for recording/reproducing data from the USB bus switching circuit 27 on the optical disk 28.
