PURPOSE: A suction valve assembly is provided to reduce suction loss of refrigerant gas by expanding suction area. CONSTITUTION: A suction valve assembly comprises a piston(10) joined to a mover of a reciprocating motor to linearly reciprocate; a suction valve(120) placed on a front end side of the piston to open and close a plurality of suction penetrating ports(113) penetrating an edge of a front end side of a piston body(11); a stopper(130) comprising a guiding part(131) passing a penetrating hole(121) of the suction valve and joined to a screw groove(114) of the piston for the suction valve to reciprocate within fixed range, and a supporting part formed on an end of the guiding part to support an end of a valve spring(140), penetrating a center of the suction valve for the suction valve to move, and fixed on the piston; and the valve spring interposed between an outside of the suction valve and the stopper to provide elastic force when the suction valve is closed. Refrigerant gas passes a suction channel(12) lengthily formed on a central part of the piston body, and the suction penetrating ports to push the suction valve when the piston is moved back. The suction valve is bent toward the supporting part of the stopper along the guiding part of the stopper by inertia thereof to simultaneously open a plurality of the suction penetrating ports for refrigerant to be introduced in the compression space.
