<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device capable of rapidly pushing and opening a garnish for covering a folded air bag concerning a curtain air bag for covering a window of an automobile. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag 1 folded into a slender shape is covered by a metal bracket 33. The end of the bracket 33 is connected to an inner panel 13a of a C pillar 13. A portion near the end of the garnish 23 for covering the inner panel 13a is connected to the inner panel 13a, and a boss-shaped abutting and receiving part 57 is protrudingly provided on the garnish 23 toward the bracket 33. When the air bag 1 is expanded, the bracket 33 is rapidly rotated.
