<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for selecting channel by which channel skipping can be set even to external input, and to provide a video/sound processing device having the device. <P>SOLUTION: Channel skipping is set to terrestrial wave broadcasting channels (1 CH to 17 CH), BS channels, and line inputs 1-4. Similarly to the normal channels, the line inputs 1 and 3 are not set to the channel skipping state, but the line inputs 2 and 4 are set to the channel skipping state.
