<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormality of a battery and a heater to secure the normal operation of other electrical parts. <P>SOLUTION: This electric power supply control device for an internal combustion engine is provided with a filter provided in an exhaust system of the internal combustion engine to catch particulates in exhaust gas; a heater provided upstream of the filter to eliminate the particulates caught by the filter by heating; a generator driven by the internal combustion engine; and a battery for storing electricity generated by the generator. The electric power supply control device controls current application of the electricity generated by the generator, to the heater when eliminating the particulates caught by the filter. When the abnormality of the battery is detected, current application to the heater is limited or suspended.
