<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil which is protected against damage caused by a corona discharge and small in outer diameter. <P>SOLUTION: The ignition coil 1 is equipped with a rod-shaped center core 21 and a cylindrical secondary spool 22 which is arranged outside the center core 21 and provided with an outer surface wound with a secondary winding 23.
