<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost separator for a fuel cell capable of stably keeping low electric resistance (high conductivity) and high corrosion resistance over a long time, and having a metallic base material. <P>SOLUTION: This separator 10 for a fuel cell has the metallic base material 11 having an oxidized film 11a of the base material itself on a surface; and a conductive thin film 12 (a noble metal film 12A or a C film 12B formed at an atom level) formed on the surface of the oxidized film of the base material. An intermediate layer 13 for enhancing adhesion is formed between the oxidized film 11a of the base material itself and the thin film 12.
