PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device which suppresses power consumption concerning the display of video information and is suitable for power saving. SOLUTION: A system control circuit 50 makes a display state of video information on an image of field outputted by an image pickup element 14 to be a power saving mode in accordance with an operating state of the image pickup device.
