METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EVALUATING METAL WORKPIECE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To investigate the life of a casting mold and the like further exactly by simulation. SOLUTION: A cylindrical test piece W is retained in a fixture 14 for the holder of an evaluating device. The holder 12 is lowered by rotating a ball screw, whereby the cylindrical test piece W is immersed in molten aluminum L. Then the cylindrical test piece W is rotated in the molten aluminum L by revolving a rotation axis 66 under the action of a rotary motor. When the cylindrical test piece W reaches a specified temperature the cylindrical test piece W is separated from the molten aluminum L and is cooled down to another specified temperature. Subsequently the cylindrical test piece W is immersed again in the molten aluminum L and is rotated. This operation is repeated in a prescribed number of times. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
