WOODEN JOGGLE PIECE AND ITS PREPARATION METHOD AND JOINING METHOD USING WOODEN JOGGLE PIECE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wooden joggle having an enhanced joining strength between joining materials without precisely processing a mortise and the wooden joggle and also capable of being driven easily, and provide its preparation method and also a joining method using the joggle. SOLUTION: On the surface of the wooden joggle 1, there is formed a reverse grain consolidation part 2 restoring an original protruding shape when being swollen in water. The wooden joggle 1 is made by forming ten-odd protrusions 6 in the predetermined direction on the surface of a board 4 and then subjecting the board 4 to steam consolidation processing by a hot press at 150°C. The board 4 is kept pressed until being consolidated into a predetermined thickness and a uniform flat surface, and then the board 4 is cut at the cross direction to the protrusions 6 to make the wooden joggle 1 having a 7 mm width. Blocks 7A and 7B are joined together by driving the wooden joggle 1 into the mortises 8A and 8B, and then water is supplied to make the reverse grain consolidation part 2 restore the original protruding shape.
