<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air supply device for a fuel cell achieving a reduction in size and weight of the entire device and capable of preventing inflow of oil into the fuel cell even when the oil flows out of a compressor. <P>SOLUTION: A silencer 8 for reducing discharge pulsation noise of the compressor comprises an inlet pipe 21 and an outlet pipe 22 provided at the front and the rear of a silencer case 20 to penetrate therethrough, an expansion chamber 23, a sound-absorption material 24 provided on an inner wall of the expansion chamber 23, and a vortex generator 25 provided at the inlet pipe 22. The sound-absorption material 24 also has an oil adsorbing function. If a fluid containing a mixture of air 26 and oil 27 flows into the inlet pipe 21, a strong swirling flow is generated when the fluid passes by the vortex generator 25. The oil 27 contained in the fluid is splashed toward the inner wall of the expansion chamber 23 due to a centrifugal force resulting from the swirling flow, and is adsorbed by the sound-absorption material 24.
