<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase positions for observing a stereoscopic image without increasing the number of light sources. <P>SOLUTION: The stereoscopic image display device is provided with a beam scanning means 1 for scanning with light beams, a deflection element array 4 where several deflection elements 4a for deflecting the light beams made incident on different positions after being scanned by the beam scanning means toward one light condensing position P are arranged, and an optical modulating means 7 for modulating the light beams so that an image having the parallax may be displayed for every different deflection element on which the light beams are made incident.
