PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve system facilitating the lift amount adjustment of a valve even in the case of forming a cylinder part for performing preliminary opening/closing of a valve, at a rocker arm and causing no defect such as the leakage of oil pressure from the cylinder part even if operated for a long time. SOLUTION: In this valve mechanism, the cylinder part having a cylinder and a piston enclosed in the cylinder is formed at the other end lower face of the rocker arm, and the piston and a bowl part formed on the lower side of the piston have a distance adjusting means for adjusting a distance from the piston to the bottom face of the bowl part.
