<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell transmitting device that can effectively utilize an ATM cell identifier and prevents deterioration in throughput caused by discarding the excessive subsequent packets when the last cell is missing. <P>SOLUTION: This cell transmitting device uses a payload type value (PT value) of an ATM header to discriminate the first ATM cell and the last ATM cell. When the first cell is identified, the cell transmitting device determines the next transfer destination from an IP header and an ATM identifier (VPI(virtual path identifier)/VCI (virtual channel identifier) value) included in the cell, rewrites the ATM header of the ATM cell forming the first cell and subsequent identical IP packets to the ATM identifier showing the next transfer destination up to the last cell and outputs the ATM identifier. By such a mechanism, high-speed transfer is carried out without assembling an IP packet, and cell relay with high throughput (with no excessive discard) is carried out even when cell missing occurs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
