PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric conversion element which can be improved in endotherm efficiency and which is suitable for decrease in the thickness of its applications. SOLUTION: The thermoelectric conversion element is provided with several substrates 4-7 having respectively electrode mounting surfaces 4a-7a on which electrodes 8-11 are provided. A p-type heat-conducting element 1 and an n-type heat-conducting element 2 are bonded by PN junction to the substrates 4-7 to be subjected to PN junction through the electrodes 8-11. It is characterized in that endothermic substrates 4 and 5 used for endotherm and radiating substrates 6 and 7 used for heat radiation are arranged while being displaced from each other in a plane so that their electrode mounting surfaces 4a and 5a and surfaces 6a and 7a are not opposed.
