PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assign a desirable range of a logical volume to a desirable RAID group by reducing deterioration of performance when processing a remote copy, saving a memory range to be assigned in a second site as a destination of the copy, and shortening the time to be required to a migration copy. SOLUTION: The logical volume is divided into a plurality of small ranges called the logical memory devices, and the only range specified by a user is targetted for the remote copy and the migration copy.
