PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the fragmentation of a shared memory is caused when an unnecessary buffer is erased, and that there is possibility that performance deterioration is caused at the time of recompiling the data base without stopping the data base system on line. SOLUTION: At the time of recompiling a data base, an unnecessary buffer is recompiled into another buffer so that the fragmentation of a shared memory can be prevented.
