PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that makes it possible to easily confirm the state of electric connection between a display panel and a circuit board and also makes it possible to detect a defective mode and the direction of a position shift between a display panel and a connection terminal of the circuit board in such a case. SOLUTION: A connection terminal part of the display panel 10 is provided with dummy electrodes 17a to 17c and a connection terminal part of the circuit board 13 is provided with dummy electrodes 19a to 19c. The dummy electrodes 17 and 19 are so arranged that when a 1st electrode 2 of the display panel and an electrode 16 of the circuit board 13 are connected, corresponding terminals among those dummy terminals 17 and 19 are electrically connected. Further, the dummy electrodes 17 on the side of the display panel 10 are so patterned that the electrodes 17a and 17c at both ends conduct to each other and the electrode 17b in the center does not conduct to other electrodes. Further, the dummy electrodes 19a to 19c on the side of the circuit board 13 are so patterned that they are electrically independent of each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
