CARBON BLACK AND METHOD FOR GRANULATING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for granulating carbon black for producing granular carbon black highly dispersible in relevant solvents in high granulation rate from powdered carbon black. SOLUTION: The method for granulating carbon black comprises the following practice: A granulating water spray pipe 7 is set at a point corresponding to about one-third of the whole length of the cylindrical drum 1 of a granulator from the carbon black feed port 4 of the drum 1 toward the granular carbon black discharge port 5 side. The spray pipe 7 performs a countercurrent spray oppositely to the powdery carbon black conveying direction at an angle of about 45°and a pressure of 0.5 MPa with a spray droplet diameter of 50-1,000μm.
