PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that since voltage drop in common wiring increases when the number of heaters being driven silmultaneously increases, voltage applying time increases when the heaters are driven and high speed driving of heaters becomes difficult. SOLUTION: The recording head having a plurality of recording elements comprises a plurality of switching elements 102a1-102mx provided in correspondence with a plurality of recording elements 101a1-101mx respectively, constant current sources 103a1-103mx provided in correspondence with the plurality of recording elements respectively, and a current control circuit 105 for controlling constant currents being supplied from the constant current sources 103a1-103mx. Each of the plurality of switching elements and constant current sources includes an MOS transistor and the constant current source outputs a constant current by controlling the ON resistance of the MOS transistor.
