PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber feeding controller for a sewing machine by which rubber is fed to a presser foot, while being synchronized with cloth feeding at high speed in the sewing machine without being influenced by the over-throw phenomenon of a feed dog. SOLUTION: The rubber feeding controller for the sewing machine for feeding rubber to the presser foot, while being synchronized with cloth feeding at high speed in the sewing machine, includes a pair of feed rollers; and a stepping motor for rotating the feed rollers based on a pulse signal. The controller includes: an optical displacement sensor for detecting by unit time the image of the cloth placed on a cloth placement surface, and relatively processing the change of the image; and a controller for arithmetically processing a rubber feeding amount from the pulse signal which is relatively processed by image through the use of the optical displacement sensor. The pulse signal of the rubber feeding amount arithmetically processed by the controller is outputted to the stepping motor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
