PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet device that detects the existence of a person inside the toilet without being affected by the size of the toilet space or the position of a door. SOLUTION: The toilet device is installed on a toilet bowl 6 and is composed of a main body 1 equipped with a control circuit 8, a toilet cover 3 and a toilet seat 2 rotatably attached to the main body 1, and a human body detecting means 4 that detects the existence of a person inside the toilet. Deterioration of the sensitivity affected by the size of the toilet space and the position of the door can be prevented by the human body detecting means 4 being able to select the installing position on either left or right side of the main body 1 or by installing the human body detecting means 4 on either left or right side.
