<p>The invention concerns a device for dynamically controlling an optical wave polarization, in particular for optical connections in high-speed fiber-based networks, and a method for making same. In one embodiment, the device comprises a block (10) made of a birefringent electro-optical material variable under the effect of an electric field, a set of at least three electrodes (11) distributed so as to be able to generate a rotating field with variable orientation and amplitude and a circuit for powering said electrodes. The invention is characterized in that the electrodes consist of holes drilled in the thickness of said electro-optical material and are metallized.</p>
