An optical element fixing structure eliminating the need of tightening by fixing screws, thereby preventing performance deterioration, such as the occurrence of strain in optical elements in crystals, etc., and improving attaching accuracy; an optical element fixing body, an optical element; and an optical element holder. An optical element fixing structure (10) comprises an optical element (6), and an optical element holder (1) for fixedly mounting the optical element (6), the optical element (6) being provided at its ends with one or more thickness-wise extending slits (8) to serve as strain caused stress absorbing means, the optical element holder (1) being provided with pressing means (3) for pressing the front and/or the back of the optical element (6) outside the slits (8) so as to fix the optical element (6).
