CONTINUOUS CASTING MOLD LEVEL MEASURING SYSTEM USING LOCK-IN AMPLIFIER

PURPOSE: A continuous casting mold level measuring system using lock-in amplifier is provided to improve continuous casting quality through measurement and comparison of surface level of molten metal at two or more of points, trace slab breakage and channeling and exclude additional introduction of expensive equipment. CONSTITUTION: The continuous casting mold level measuring system using lock-in amplifier comprises a plurality of eddy current sensors(41,42) installed at a certain height above the surface of molten metal in a width direction of continuous casting mold(1) to detect a distance between the surface of the molten metal(2) and the sensors; a sine wave signal generator(5) for transmitting sine wave current frequencies to the plurality of eddy current sensors; a lock-in amplifier(8) for amplifying output of the plurality of eddy current sensors; a signal processing part(9) for outputting a distance value by signal processing the output of the lock-in amplifier; and a surface level display(10) for displaying output of the signal processing part so that operator is capable of checking the output of the signal processing part with the naked eye, wherein the signal generator transmits different sine wave current frequencies to the plurality of eddy current sensors respectively.
