PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to reduce power consumption by cooling a freezer compartment and a refrigerating compartment respectively, to increase cooling speed by forcibly blowing cold air to the refrigerating compartment with a blower fan, and to maximize the internal capacity of the freezer compartment by installing an inverse L-shaped thin evaporator in the freezer compartment and the barrier. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a freezer compartment(1); a refrigerating compartment(2) installed near the freezer compartment; a barrier(3) separating the freezer compartment from the refrigerating compartment; an inverse L-shaped evaporator(4) installed in the barrier with the refrigerating cycle; a partition plate(9) dividing the heat exchange area of the evaporator into two parts; a freezer compartment cool air passage supplying cool air from the freezer compartment area of the evaporator to the freezer compartment; a refrigerating compartment cool air passage supplying cool air from the barrier area of the evaporator to the refrigerating compartment; and a sirocco fan(305) installed in the freezer compartment cool air passage and the refrigerating compartment cool air passage, and composed of a separation plate and blades curved opposite to each other around the separation plate to discharge cool air circumferentially in different direction in rotating unidirectionally.
