A waste bin handling system for a collection vehicle has two adjustable forks fitted on a tilt mounting under the lifting frame (11), with a pivot at one end and a slotted guide at the other end. Each fork is additionally fitted on a lateral swivel to vary the operating width of the forks. This setting is secured by inserting bolts into a selection of holes in the swivel mount. The adjustable forks can handle containers of different width and with side pockets into which the forks grip. The design is suitable for both front and rear loading vehicles.
