The torque meter has a clamping part (10) enclosing the handle (21) of the tool and a tension meter (15) whose resistance can be changed when applying force. The resistance change is transferred through a transfer element (11) to an indicator device (12) where it is calculated into a torque value. The clamping part can have any shape corresponding to the handle and is preferably made of aluminium alloy. The indicator device has a display (16) and adjuster knob (14).
