PURPOSE: A carbonaceous soil modifier and its preparation method are provided to neutralize severely acidified soil within short time and to improve the air transmission and water transmission of soil by the pores due to fibrous organic matters and carbonaceous materials. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing 20-50 wt% of steel making slag, 20-50 wt% of clay and 15-60 wt% of fibrous organic matters; molding the mixture to obtain a molded product having an average diameter of 1-2 mm; and calcining the molded product at a temperature of 800-1,000 deg.C for 0.5-1 hours under inert condition. Preferably the calcination is carried out under nitrogen atmosphere or argon atmosphere. Preferably the fibrous organic matters are obtained from rice-straw, polyethylene tubes, wood chips or coconut shells. |
