The battery screw driver has a motor electrically charged through a voltage supply on the screw driver. At least three measuring devices are provided to monitor the screwing parameters during the screwing process, namely a torque sensor measuring the tightening torque generated by the motor, a rotational angle sensor measuring the actual screwing angle starting from a predetermined measuring position, and a current sensor for measuring the drive current of the motor. A monitoring electronics unit switches the motor off when the torque, screwing angle and drive current each lie at the same time within a predetermined associated ideal parameter window.
