PURPOSE: A device for shielding electromagnetic waves surrounding electric furnace is provided which prevents a loss of lives due to electromagnetic waves by effectively shielding the electromagnetic waves, and which is easily installed in a simple structure so that installation cost is low, and it is directly installed at existing facility to be used. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a shielding layer(10) formed of low carbon steel sheet or cold rolled steel sheet positioned at the electromagnetic wave generating side; a vibration absorption layer(20) directly contacted with a rear part of the shielding layer to take charge of noise reduction and insulation by absorbing vibration of steel sheet; and a shielding layer(10) formed of low carbon steel sheet or cold rolled steel sheet directly contacted with a rear part of the vibration absorption layer, wherein the shielding layer and the vibration absorption layer are installed alternately and continuously, wherein the vibration absorption layer is formed of an inorganic material, and wherein the low carbon steel sheet or cold rolled steel sheet has a saturated magnetization value of 16,000 to 17,500 Gauss.
