POSITION REGISTERING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ALLOWING IP NETWORK TO RESERVE BI-DIRECTIONAL RESOURCE BY USING GPRS NETWORK

PURPOSE: A position registering apparatus and method for allowing an IP network to reserve bi-directional resource by using GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) network are provided to set a path bi-directionally to guarantee a bandwidth required for data transmission. CONSTITUTION: A storing unit(410) stores registration information received from a moving unit including a CN(Corresponding Node) and a moving host. A receiving unit(420) provides a means for transmitting and receiving information to and from an SGSN. An HLR(Home Location Register)(340) receives an RSVP(Resource Reservation Protocol) bi-directional request message that the CN has transmitted from a sending side SGSN(Serving GPRS Support Node). A searching unit(430) searches the registration information of the moving host received from the storing unit(410) and registration information of a receiving side GGSN(Gateway GPRS Support Node). A transmitting unit(440) transmits information related to an IP address of the moving host and an IP address of the receiving side GGSN to the CN and a sending side GGSN, and transmits information related to an IP address of the CN and an IP address of the sending side GGSN included in the received RSVP bi-directional request message to the moving host and the receiving side GGSN.
