The mobile telephone owner uses a mobile telephone as a data receiver and establishes a wireless connection, e.g. an infrared or Bluetooth (RTM) connection, with a data transmitter (3) that is connected to a control unit (4). Data are transmitted from the control unit of the transmitter to the mobile telephone, and stored in the mobile telephone. The data may be ring-tones display logos or multimedia data. The control unit is connected to a money processing device (5) for receiving payment. The data may be transmitted as a prize in a gaming or amusement machine.
