APPARATUS FOR COOLING ELECTROMAGNETIC STIRRER

PURPOSE: An apparatus for cooling electromagnetic stirrer is provided to prevent burning of the outer skin of the stirrer by adhering cooling spray nozzle to an outer skin of the stirrer, cooling the outer skin of the stirrer using cooling water sprayed, cooling core using cooling air sprayed and removing a welding part of the outer skin. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for cooling an electromagnetic stirrer which is fixed in such a way that the core and the coil are protected by an outer skin with being consisted of core(4) and coil(3) molded of electrical insulator(5) to impress a moving magnetic field, the apparatus for cooling the electromagnetic stirrer comprises a core cooling passageway(15) into which cooling air is flown with being formed in such a way that the core cooling passageway passes through the core; a protection outer skin(6) comprising two plies of stainless steel sheets into a space between which a plurality of stiffeners(10) are inserted in such a way that the plurality of stiffeners are bolted to the stainless steel sheets so that the two plies of stainless steel sheets form a cooling water channel(6a), wherein the protection outer skin is fixed to the outer surface of the core to protect the core; and a cooling spray nozzle(9) for cooling solidification shell with being fixed onto the inner surface of the protection outer skin as the cooling spray nozzle is penetratingly formed at the core cooling passageway and the cooling water channel, wherein the protection outer skin is formed of two plies of stainless steel sheets(14) formed in a depression and prominence shape to form the cooling water channel with corner part of the protection outer skin being bolted by stiffener(10).
