A remaining power-detecting system for accurately calculating, with little power consumption, the remaining power of a battery (11). A remaining power-calculating microcomputer (31) memorizes electric current data (D' (I)) when an apparatus body (102) is in a stand-by state. When the apparatus body is in a stand-by state, a switch (30b) is opened so as to stop power supply to an electric current-detecting circuit (30), and the remaining power-calculating microcomputer calculates remaining power of the battery using estimated electric current data.
