An electronic timepiece with a solar cell, wherein a translucent lining ring is disposed inside the solar cell, a part of a solar cell generating area and a part of the lining ring covering the solar cell generating area are disposed under the upper surface of a dial plate, and the thickness of the dial plate on the inside of the dial plate is formed thicker than the thickness of the peripheral edge part of the dial plate on which the translucent lining ring is placed while assuring a light guide part for incident light on the lining ring on a flange part for fixing a wind shield glass to a timepiece case is disposed on the outside of the translucent lining ring and the solar cell, the lining ring is disposed just below the wind shield glass, and a blinder part is installed above the lining ring or the solar cell, whereby a recessed design can be eliminated since a clearance between the lower surface of the wind shield glass and the upper surface of the dial plate can be reduced.
