PURPOSE: A method for driving a liquid crystal display device is provided to reduce the power consumption generated from the DC/DC converter by preventing it in response to a predetermined status of the vertical synchronization signal or a gate start pulse signal and an end of carrier signal. CONSTITUTION: A method for driving a liquid crystal display device is characterized in that the DC/DC converter(40) is turned off by preventing the input voltage signal applied from the system(10) while the pixel clock signal corresponding to the non-active display area of the liquid crystal panel is processed.
