PURPOSE: Provided is an MgO slurry composition for base-coating an oriented electric steel plate, which has a firm adhesion among particles and also between the particles and the base steel plate, therefore dose not form a surface defect when producing goods and improves quality when secondly processing. CONSTITUTION: The MgO slurry composition contains: 89.6-98.2wt% of MgO; 0.2-4.6wt% of one or two selected from Ca¬-, Ti¬-, V¬-, Cr¬-, Mn¬-, Fe¬-, Sr¬-, Co¬-, Zr¬- compounds; 0.012-10.2wt% of a single or composite oxide selected from Na¬-, K¬-, Ca¬-, Pb¬-, B¬-, Al¬-; 0.01-20pts.wt.(based on an MgO solid component of the MgO slurry) of a water-soluble inorganic resin selected from a water-soluble silicate, a metal polyphosphate, a metal alkoxide.
