PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to reduce power consumption by cooling a freezer compartment and a refrigerating compartment respectively, to increase cooling speed by forcibly blowing cold air to the refrigerating compartment with a blower fan, and to maximize the capacity of the freezer compartment by installing the refrigerating compartment evaporator or the freezer compartment evaporator in the barrier. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a freezer compartment(1); a refrigerating compartment(2) installed near the freezer compartment; a barrier(3) separating the freezer compartment from the refrigerating compartment; a freezer compartment evaporator(4a) installed in the freezer compartment with the refrigerating cycle; a refrigerating compartment evaporator installed in the barrier with the refrigerating cycle; a freezer compartment cool air passage supplying cool air heat-exchanged by the freezer compartment evaporator to the freezer compartment; a refrigerating compartment cool air passage formed in the barrier to supply cool air heat-exchanged by the refrigerating compartment evaporator to the refrigerating compartment; and blower fans(105,205) installed in the freezer compartment and refrigerating compartment cool air passages to forcibly blow cool air to the compartments. The freezer compartment evaporator and the refrigerating compartment evaporator are connected in parallel or in series.
